Joining the voice cast of Max’s animated series, Gremlins: The Wild Batch, are comedian Simu Liu and John Glover, known for his role in the 1990 live-action film, Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
Set a year after the events of Season 1, Gremlins: The Wild Batch chronicles the adventures of Gizmo, Sam, and Elle as they journey from Shanghai to San Francisco. The series promises to deliver an extra dose of magic, mystery, and Mogwai mayhem, according to a Friday press release from the streaming service.
“Our heroes chase a new swarm of malevolent Mogwai across the American West, encountering new supernatural beings and meeting intriguing new characters along the way,” the release stated.
The show’s impressive voice cast also features Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, Izaac Wang, AJ LoCascio, Gabrielle Nevaeh, George Takei, Michael Paul Chan, Ronny Chieng, Keith David, Will Forte, Kelly Hu, and Jimmy O. Yang.
The Wild Batch continues the story from the 2023 series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai. These animated series serve as prequels to the classic 1984 film Gremlins and its 1990 sequel.
