Lance Stroll Signs Multi-year Deal to Stay at Aston Martin Until 2026

Aston Martin’s Formula 1 team announced on Thursday that Canadian driver Lance Stroll has signed a contract extension, ensuring his continued presence with the team through the 2026 season.

While the specific duration of Stroll’s contract remains undisclosed, the team confirmed that it will span into the new era of F1 regulations, set to commence in 2026.

Stroll expressed his enthusiasm for the extension, stating, “I’m thrilled to have committed to staying with the team for 2025 and beyond. There’s still so much to look forward to.”

The 24-year-old driver finished 10th in the drivers’ standings last season, with a fourth-place finish at the Australian GP. Currently, he sits in 11th place heading into the Austrian GP, with a best result of sixth place, also achieved in Australia.

The contract extension also means that Stroll will continue to partner with two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso, who signed a contract extension with Aston Martin in April for at least two more seasons.

Team principal Mike Krack welcomed the consistency and stability that Stroll and Alonso’s continued partnership brings, stating, “We look forward to creating incredible memories and achieving further success together.”

Lance Stroll’s father, Lawrence Stroll, owns the Aston Martin team, making this contract extension an outstanding development for both the team and the Stroll family. With Stroll’s talent and the team’s dedication, Aston Martin is poised for a successful future in Formula 1.
