Jason Day Set to Tee Off for Australia at Paris Olympics

Jason Day, a former world No. 1 golfer, has finally secured a spot at the Paris Olympics, joining a talented Australian team that includes Min Woo Lee, Minjee Lee, and Hannah Green.

Day’s decision to skip the 2016 Rio Olympics due to Zika virus concerns had left him with regrets, but he now has a chance to make up for lost time. The Australian Olympic Committee’s announcement confirmed the team, which boasts an impressive array of achievements.

Minjee Lee, a 10-time LPGA winner, will become the first Australian golfer to compete in three Olympics, while Hannah Green, who tied for fifth in Tokyo, and Min Woo Lee, the reigning Australian PGA champion, complete the formidable lineup.

Day, a 13-time PGA Tour winner, including a major victory at the 2015 PGA Championship, will join forces with Min Woo Lee to form a strong men’s team.

The Olympic tournament, set to take place at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, Paris, promises to be an exciting contest, with the men’s competition scheduled for August 1-4 and the women’s event taking place from August 7-10.

This Australian team boasts a wealth of experience and talent, with each member having achieved remarkable success in their careers. Minjee Lee’s impressive resume includes 10 LPGA wins, while Hannah Green has secured two LPGA Tour victories this year alone.

Min Woo Lee’s career-best world ranking of 31st in 2024 demonstrates his rising talent, and Jason Day’s extensive experience and skill make him a strong contender. Together, they form a formidable team, ready to take on the world’s best golfers at the Paris Olympics.
