The Minnesota Twins rebounded from a tough loss with a resounding 8-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night.
Jose Miranda’s three-run double in the second inning set the tone, and the Twins’ offense never looked back. Simeon Woods Richardson pitched effectively into the sixth inning, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out four.
The Twins’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with Willi Castro hitting a two-run homer and Trevor Larnach doubling twice. The team racked up 14 hits, including eight for extra bases, showcasing their offensive prowess.
Manager Rocco Baldelli praised his team’s performance, saying, “Every segment of the lineup was productive…we really brought some of the ideas that we talked about before the game into the game, and it came together nicely.”
Woods Richardson kept the Diamondbacks off balance until the fourth inning, when Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a run-scoring triple. Arizona added two more runs in the sixth, but it was too little, too late. The Twins’ pitching and offense were in sync, securing the win.
Woods Richardson credited his teammates, saying, “When the hitters are doing their job, it kind of gives you peace of mind and ease on your job, and you can just go out there and pitch.”
