Volkswagen has uncover the latest iteration of the Golf R Wagon, a high-performance variant that is sure to tantalize European car enthusiasts. This powerhouse wagon boasts a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, producing a formidable 329 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
With its all-wheel-drive capability and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Golf R Wagon can reach 62 mph from a standstill in a mere 4.8 seconds, making it the fastest current Volkswagen alongside the Arteon R Shooting Brake.
The Golf R Wagon’s performance prowess is further enhanced by its optional Performance Package, which adds features like matrix LED headlights, a G-meter, and a GPS lap timer. Additionally, the package includes a dedicated drift mode and a Special driving mode tailored to the Nürburgring track, making it a formidable opponent on both the road and the racetrack.
The wagon’s exterior design is equally impressive, with new 19-inch forged wheels named Warmenau that are 20% lighter than the equivalent alloy wheels. The Golf R Wagon’s interior features premium materials and cutting-edge technology, including a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
Unfortunately, Volkswagen has confirmed that the Golf R Wagon will not be available in the US market, where the manual gearbox has been discontinued for the 2025 model year. However, European car enthusiasts can look forward to getting their hands on this performance powerhouse, with pricing details to be announced soon. With its impressive performance capabilities and sleek design, the Golf R Wagon is sure to be a hit among car enthusiasts in Europe.
