Orioles Break Through with Big Win, Snap Five-Game Skid

The Baltimore Orioles finally broke their five-game losing streak, defeating the Cleveland Guardians 4-2 on Wednesday night. The win was a much-needed boost for the Orioles, who had been struggling to find their footing.

Cedric Mullins’ tiebreaking solo home run in the seventh inning proved to be the game-changer, giving the Orioles their first lead of the night. Mullins’ homer was a towering drive that soared inside the foul pole and landed on Eutaw Street beyond the right field scoreboard.

Gunnar Henderson and Ryan O’Hearn also went deep for the Orioles, who were desperate for a win after being shut out in their previous two games.

Jhonkensy Noel, a 22-year-old rookie, made his major league debut for the Guardians and homered in his first at-bat, but the Orioles’ pitching held strong. Grayson Rodriguez gave up just two runs over seven innings, striking out the last four batters he faced.

The win was a testament to the Orioles’ resilience and determination. “Nice to see Ced really contributing,” Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said of Mullins, who has been on a hot streak lately. “He’s gotten a lot better these past couple weeks.”

The Guardians took two of three from the Orioles, but the loss snapped their seven-game winning streak. Despite the defeat, Guardians manager Stephen Vogt was pleased with his team’s performance.

“It would have been nice to get out of here with three, but anytime we can win a series, especially on the road, we’re good with it,” Vogt said.
