FBI Veteran to Spearhead Motion Picture Association’s Fight Against Piracy

The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has appointed seasoned FBI veteran Larissa Knapp as Executive Vice President and Chief Content Protection Officer, tasked with spearheading the expansion of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a global anti-piracy organization.

Knapp, who spent 27 years with the FBI, will leverage her extensive experience in leading investigations and managing large teams to combat piracy and protect the creative economy.

With a proven track record in intellectual property and cybercrime investigations, Knapp is well-equipped to lead the MPA’s content protection efforts.

Her impressive career includes managing a $300 million budget and overseeing 2,000 personnel as head of the FBI’s National Security Branch. She has also led the FBI’s Security, Training and Human Resources Divisions, and Data Analytics, responsible for 36,000 employees worldwide.

Charles Rivkin, Chairman and CEO of the MPA, praised Knapp’s exceptional leadership and investigative expertise, expressing confidence in her ability to take ACE’s content protection efforts to new heights. Knapp will report to Karyn Temple, Senior Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel for the MPA, and will be based in Washington.
