A Fifth Installment of the Shrek Franchise is Underway, With Eddie Murphy’s Beloved Donkey Getting a Standalone Film

Eddie Murphy has made a surprising revelation, disclosing that he has already completed recording the initial act of the highly anticipated Shrek 5, a project that DreamWorks Animation has not officially announced.

The confirmed that a spinoff movie centered around his iconic character, Donkey, is also in development. Although the studio has remained silent about the project, Murphy hinted at a potential release date of 2025 for Shrek 5.
