Negotiations between Monk’s agents, Jeff Schwartz and Marcus Monk of Excel Sports, and Kings management began promptly after the allowable period, and Monk plans to finalize the deal once the league’s moratorium concludes on July 6.

For the Kings, retaining Monk signifies continuity and stability in their roster-building efforts.
