George Kittle, the tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, fought through injuries to support his team’s journey to the 2023 Super Bowl. However, after the season ended, Kittle underwent significant core surgery, resulting in a weight loss of almost 30 pounds. He opened up about his challenging recovery process during a recent appearance on the podcast “Bussin’ With The Boys.”
Kittle explained that his injuries prevented him from lifting weights for an extended period. His shoulder and rib issues hindered any upper-body workouts, while his core surgery limited his lower-body exercises. As a result, Kittle was unable to engage in any physical training from the Super Bowl until mid-March, going an entire month without any form of exercise.
Despite the setbacks, Kittle is optimistic about his recovery. He mentioned that he is currently feeling great and is almost back to full health. Kittle, who played the previous season at 250 pounds, is now focused on regaining his strength and aims to put on an additional 10 pounds before the new season begins.
The tight end’s dedication to his recovery and fitness is evident as he prepares for the 2024 campaign. Kittle’s journey through injuries and his commitment to regaining peak physical condition highlight his resilience and determination to perform at the highest level for the San Francisco 49ers.
