201 HP and Room to Spare: The New Mini Cooper Five-Door

The new Mini Cooper has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the five-door model, offering increased practicality without sacrificing style.

Available in two engine options, the base Cooper C features a 1.5-liter three-cylinder producing 154 horsepower, while the Cooper S boasts a 2.0-liter four-cylinder generating 201 horsepower.

While the five-door model mirrors the three-door’s output, its slightly larger size adds a tad more weight, resulting in a 0.2-second increase in zero-to-62 mph times.

The five-door Cooper’s extended wheelbase and body provide 32.6 cubic feet of cargo space, a serious upgrade from the three-door’s 28.2 cubic feet.

The interior features the same fresh design as the smaller Cooper, with a minimalist aesthetic, 9.4-inch center display, and Mini Experience Modes for customizable lighting and display options.

The available JCW Trim adds sporty elements like diffusers and black trim, while Parking Assistant Plus includes four external cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors for easier maneuvering.

With four trim levels offered, the five-door Mini Cooper caters to a range of preferences. While details are currently specific to the European model, the North American version is expected to share similar features.
