NASCAR Driver Stenhouse Fined $75K for Busch Punch

The repercussion of Sunday’s All-Star Race has brought serious consequences for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his team, following an altercation with fellow driver Kyle Busch. NASCAR announced on Wednesday that Stenhouse has been hit with a hefty fine of $75,000 for his involvement in the incident.

Additionally, two crew members from Stenhouse’s No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing team have been handed suspensions for multiple races due to their roles in the altercation. Adding to the gravity of the situation, Stenhouse’s father, Richard, has been indefinitely suspended for violating NASCAR’s code of conduct.

The incident between Stenhouse and Busch occurred shortly after the green flag was waved at Sunday’s event, resulting in serious damage to Stenhouse’s car. Forced to exit the race after just two laps, Stenhouse parked his damaged vehicle in Busch’s pit stall, escalating tensions between the two drivers.

Following the conclusion of the race, Stenhouse confronted Busch at his hauler, sparking a brief argument that culminated in Stenhouse delivering a punch to Busch. The altercation quickly escalated, involving not only the drivers but also their respective teams.

Both Stenhouse and Busch have endured a challenging season on the track, with Busch currently sitting in 13th place in the Cup Series standings, 162 points behind the top spot. Stenhouse finds himself in 26th position, reflecting the frustration that may have contributed to the altercation.
