Antonio Brown Former NFL Star Files for Bankruptcy with $3 Million Debt

Former NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown has filed for bankruptcy, as reported by the Times Union. The filing, which occurred on May 15 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Florida, indicates that Brown owes nearly $3 million to eight different creditors.

This debt includes a $1.2 million court judgment to Anton Tumanov, a moving truck driver who sued Brown for assault and battery following an altercation in 2020. Other debts include amounts owed on a credit card, a marketing firm, and a law firm.

Brown has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which allows for a court-supervised reorganization of his assets and liabilities. His media company, CTESPN Network, confirmed the bankruptcy filing via social media, noting, “NFL legend Antonio Brown has filed for bankruptcy today.

He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2027. He will be releasing new music this summer. He is also the founder of the most trusted source in all of sports.”

Antonio Brown was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and enjoyed a successful career as a seven-time Pro Bowler. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

However, Brown has not played in the NFL since 2022, when he left a game against the New York Jets mid-play by removing his shirt and exiting the field. Despite having earned over $88 million during his career, Brown now claims to have less than $50,000 in assets.
