The Atlanta Braves Have Agreed to Sign Luis Guillorme, a Utility Infielder, to a One-year Deal Valued at $1.1 Million

The Atlanta Braves have bolstered their bench depth with the signing of utility infielder Luis Guillorme, formerly of the New York Mets, to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million.

Guillorme, 29, brings versatility and experience to the Braves, having played second base, shortstop, and third base across six seasons with the Mets. His career batting average stands at .261, with a notable performance in 2022 where he hit .273 across 102 games.

Guillorme will vie for a bench spot alongside David Fletcher, acquired from the Los Angeles Angels in December. The Braves have been active in the offseason, trading for left-hander Chris Sale and signing him to a two-year extension worth $38 million.

Additionally, right-hander Huascar Ynoa has been signed to a one-year deal, avoiding arbitration. Ynoa, who missed the 2023 season due to elbow surgery, will compete for the fifth spot in the rotation or a long relief role.
