Lucasfilm has confirmed that the highly anticipated second season of “Ahsoka” is currently in development, with visionary creator Dave Filoni at the helm.
This announcement comes on the heels of the reveal of the new “Star Wars” film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” directed by Jon Favreau, which will lead the charge in Lucasfilm’s feature development slate.
Filoni is simultaneously working on “Ahsoka” Season 2, alongside other projects, solidifying his impact on the Star Wars universe. The first season of “Ahsoka” left fans on the edge of their seats, with Rosario Dawson reprising her role as the beloved Jedi, Ahsoka Tano.
The narrative follows her quest to save the galaxy from the ominous threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen. The show also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Hayden Christensen, who reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker.
Filoni’s creative genius is evident in “Ahsoka,” which marks the live-action debut of several animated “Star Wars Rebels” characters. His involvement in “The Mandalorian,” “The Book of Boba Fett,” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” has cemented his status as a mastermind in the Star Wars universe.
With executive producers like Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, and Carrie Beck, “Ahsoka” is poised for greatness. As fans eagerly await the return of “Ahsoka,” Lucasfilm is also developing other “Star Wars” series, including “The Acolyte” and the second season of “Andor.”
Filoni is also set to direct a feature film that will conclude the storylines from his TV series, further solidifying his impact on the franchise. With “Ahsoka” Season 2 on the horizon, the future of Star Wars has never looked brighter.
