Cardinals Hire Ex-red Sox Executive Chaim Bloom as Adviser to President

The St. Louis Cardinals have bolstered their front office by hiring former Boston Red Sox executive Chaim Bloom as an adviser. Bloom, 40, was let go by the Red Sox in September after the team struggled in the highly competitive AL East.

During his tenure with the Red Sox, Bloom oversaw a turnaround of the team’s farm system and helped lead the team to the AL Championship Series in 2021. Despite his successes, Bloom was fired after the Red Sox failed to meet expectations in recent years.

The Cardinals, who had a disappointing 2023 season, hope that Bloom’s expertise will help the team return to its winning ways. Bloom brings a wealth of experience to the Cardinals, having also worked with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he played a key role in the team’s rebuilding process.

Bloom’s ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions will be valuable assets to the Cardinals as they look to improve their roster and return to the playoffs.
