Emma Stone’s husband, Dave McCary, is her biggest fan. The couple celebrated Stone’s second Academy Award for Best Actress at the 2024 Oscars for her role as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.”
With her shiny new statuette in hand at the Governors Ball, Stone, 35, smiled for the camera while McCary, 38, planted a kiss on her cheek. They were also photographed sharing a smooch during the Searchlight Pictures Oscar Party at Dante in Los Angeles and posed together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Stone won the Best Actress honor for the second time, having first received the award for her role in 2016’s “La La Land.” She has been nominated for five Oscars in total.
The star looked shocked as her name was announced by last year’s Best Actress winner, Michelle Yeoh. Before emotionally acknowledging her fellow nominees — Annette Bening (“Nyad”), Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Sandra Hüller (“Anatomy of a Fall”), and Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”) — Stone addressed her “broken” dress mishap and admitted, “My voice is also a little gone — whatever.”
She added, “The other night, I was panicking, as you can kind of see, happens a lot. That maybe something like this could happen, and Yorgos said to me, ‘Please take yourself out of it.’ And he was right, because it’s not about me. It’s about a team that came together to make something greater than the sum of its parts.”
Stone concluded by thanking her family, including her husband Dave and their nearly 3-year-old daughter, Louise. She quoted Taylor Swift, telling Louise, “I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl.”
The 96th Academy Awards aired live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
