Andrew Scott, renowned for his roles in “Ripley” and “Fleabag,” has joined the ensemble cast of “Knives Out 3,” officially titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” Scott will star alongside Daniel Craig, who reprises his role as the eccentric detective Benoit Blanc, as well as Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny.

Rian Johnson, the mastermind behind the “Knives Out” series, will write and direct the third installment, with production set to begin soon and a release date slated for 2025.

While plot details remain under wraps, Johnson and Craig have hinted that this will be Blanc’s most perilous case yet. The “Knives Out” franchise has garnered acclaim for its diverse ensemble casts, with Craig being the only constant across all three films. The original 2019 film, released by Lionsgate, grossed an impressive $312 million on a $40 million budget.

Netflix subsequently acquired the rights to the series for over $450 million and released the sequel, “Glass Onion,” in 2022, which generated an estimated $15 million during its week-long theatrical run.

Andrew Scott’s involvement in “Wake Up Dead Man” marks a reunion with Daniel Craig, with whom he shared scenes in the 2015 James Bond film “Spectre.”

Scott’s career has been on the rise since his breakout role as the Hot Priest in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s “Fleabag,” with recent outstanding performances in “All of Us Strangers” and Netflix’s adaptation of “Ripley.”
