Katie Silberman, Writer of ‘Booksmart,’ Sells Spec Script ‘Reality Vice’ to Paramount Pictures, with Maximum Effort and Entertainment 360 Onboard to Produce

Paramount Pictures has secured the rights to “Reality Vice,” a comedy feature film penned by acclaimed screenwriter Katie Silberman. The project will be produced in collaboration with Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds’ production company, and Entertainment 360.

The film is set in the world of reality television, where a female detective assumes an undercover role among a group of affluent women participating in a popular housewife-style reality show.

Katie Silberman has established herself as a prominent writer in the industry, with credits including the Netflix hit “Set It Up,” the romantic comedy “Isn’t It Romantic,” and the critically acclaimed “Booksmart,” which garnered her a Writers Guild of America nomination and a Spirit Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Her most recent project, the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling,” directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, debuted at the Venice Film Festival and achieved remarkable commercial success.

Maximum Effort’s partnership with Paramount Pictures continues to flourish, with a first-look deal in place and several projects in various stages of development, including “Boy Band,” “Starter Villain,” “Eloise,” and “Gaslight Express.”

Entertainment 360 recently produced “The Fall Guy,” starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. “Reality Vice” promises to be a humorous and timely satire that critiques the absurdity of reality television.
