Get ready to be spellbound once again! The beloved sibling duo, Alex and Justin Russo, from the hit Disney show “Wizards of Waverly Place” is making a magical comeback to television in the upcoming sequel pilot, simply titled “Wizards”.
Selena Gomez and David Henrie, the original stars who brought the characters to life in 2007, are returning as executive producers and will reprise their roles in the pilot. Gomez will make a special guest appearance, while Henrie will star in the series as Justin Russo.
The enchanting sequel follows Justin’s journey as he leaves his magical life behind to start a family and live a normal life. However, his peace is short-lived as a young and powerful wizard seeks his guidance, forcing Justin to confront his past and save the Wizard World’s future. Joining the Russo family are new faces, Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos.
The pilot is written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, the creative minds behind the “That’s So Raven” reboot. Selena Gomez expressed her excitement on Instagram, sharing a nostalgic photo from the original series and a screenshot of the pilot script, captioning it “Home again”.
David Henrie and Disney Channel teased the news on Instagram, sharing the pilot script cover and a wand, with Henrie announcing, “The Russos are back, and we’ve grown. 2024, the year magic comes back.” Get ready to be spellbound once again!
