Samsung and Hyundai Partner to Bring Smartthings to Connected Cars

Samsung and Hyundai have announced a groundbreaking collaboration to integrate Samsung’s SmartThings platform into Hyundai and Kia’s connected car services.

This partnership aims to create a seamless and connected experience for users, enabling them to control their vehicles and smart home devices through a single interface.

Through SmartThings, users will be able to control their car’s air conditioning, windows, and other functions remotely, as well as integrate their car into their smart home routines.

KIA Launches EV3 Smart Car (KIA)

For example, when a user’s morning alarm goes off, their curtains will open, lights and TV will turn on, and their car will adjust to a comfortable temperature. This integration will revolutionize the way we interact with our vehicles and homes, making our lives more convenient and connected.

Hyundai and Kia plan to develop infotainment systems that will support SmartThings and provide stable services via over-the-air updates and USB updates to existing vehicles.

While the specific models that will support SmartThings have not been announced, the partnership promises to enhance the driving experience and create a more connected lifestyle.

The collaboration is still in its early stages, with the two companies having just signed a memorandum of understanding. However, the potential for smart home and car integration is vast, and this partnership may pave the way for future lifestyles that are more connected and convenient than ever before.

With SmartThings, users will be able to experience a new level of comfort, convenience, and connectivity, making their lives easier and more enjoyable.

As the partnership progresses, we can expect to see new and innovative features that will transform the way we live and drive. With Samsung’s expertise in smart home technology and Hyundai’s leadership in the automotive industry, this collaboration is poised to revolutionize the way we experience our vehicles and homes. Get ready to embrace a more connected and convenient future with SmartThings and Hyundai.
