The 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards finally took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, after being postponed due to the writers and actors strikes. Anthony Anderson hosted the highly anticipated ceremony, which celebrated the best in television.

HBO’s Succession reigned supreme, claiming the coveted Outstanding Drama Series award, while FX’s The Bear emerged victorious as the Outstanding Comedy Series. Netflix’s Beef impressed as the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, and RuPaul’s Drag Race sashayed away with the Outstanding Reality Competition Program award.

Other outstanding winners included HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Trevor Noah for Outstanding Talk Series.

The evening also saw a talented group of actors take home awards, including Ayo Edebiri, Jennifer Coolidge, Matthew Macfadyen, Quinta Brunson, Jeremy Allen White, Niecy Nash-Betts, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ali Wong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Paul Walter Hauser, and Steven Yeun.

The Television Academy also presented the prestigious Governors Award to GLAAD, recognizing their tireless efforts in promoting LGBTQ equality and representation in the media and entertainment industries.
