The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced its longlist nominations for the 2024 awards ceremony, with “Oppenheimer,” “Barbie,” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” leading the pack with 15 nominations each.

“Oppenheimer” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” are recognized in the adapted screenplay category, while “Barbie” is listed for the original screenplay. This achievement ties the record set by “All Quiet on the Western Front” in 2023.

Following closely behind are “Poor Things” with 14 nominations and “Maestro” with 12, both recognized in the best film, cinematography, director, and screenplay categories.

Other outstanding mentions include “Saltburn” with 11 nods, “All of Us Strangers” with 10, and “The Zone of Interest” also with 10. “Past Lives” receives six nominations, including best film, and “Anatomy of a Fall” secures seven nods, including director and original screenplay.

The leading films showcase strength in acting categories, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and George MacKay competing for leading actor.

Sandra Hüller earns nominations in both the leading and supporting actress categories, alongside Mia McKenna-Bruce’s leading actress nomination. Important omissions include “Ferrari” and “Napoleon,” recognized primarily in technical categories.

The longlist reflects progress in racial and gender diversity, featuring actors like Jeffrey Wright, Colman Domingo, and Fantasia Barrino.

The final nominations will be announced on January 18, with the concluding voting round taking place from January 19 to February 13, leading up to the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on February 18.
