Stephanie McMahon’s Resignation Timeline Clarified in WWE SEC Filing

Stephanie McMahon made a remarkable impact in the professional wrestling community on Tuesday by announcing her resignation as Co-CEO of WWE, following Vince McMahon’s return as Executive Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

A report from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) dated January 11 has provided clarity on the sequence of events, revealing that Vince was elected Executive Chairman on January 9 while Stephanie was still serving on the board.

After his reinstatement, Stephanie “ceased to be Chairwoman of the Board” and resigned the next day, leading to Nick Khan becoming the sole Chief Executive Officer of WWE.

The SEC report also highlighted the current members of the Audit Committee, the Governance and Nominating Committee, and the Compensation and Human Capital Committee: Michelle McKenna, Steve Koonin, and Steve Pamon.

On the day of Vince McMahon’s reinstatement, McKenna and Koonin were appointed to the Audit Committee and the Governance and Nominating Committee, while McKenna and Pamon joined the Compensation and Human Capital Committee.

Pamon, Koonin, and McKenna have been on the Board since September 1, 2020, June 1, 2021, and September 16, 2022, respectively. Stephanie was appointed Co-CEO of WWE and Co-Chair of the Board, along with Khan, in July of the previous year, following Vince’s retirement despite multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment.
