Volvo Car USA has reported a huge increase in sales for February, with 8,560 vehicles sold, marking a 38 percent rise compared to the same month last year.
This achievement represents the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year growth, driven by strong demand for the brand’s cars, particularly the Recharge lineup of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
Sales of Volvo’s fully electric models, the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge compact luxury SUVs, surged by 75 percent from the previous year, making up 11 percent of the total sales for February.
Additionally, the overall sales of Recharge models saw a 45 percent increase, accounting for 29 percent of all Volvo cars sold in the U.S. during the month.
In Canada, Volvo experienced a 14 percent year-over-year rise in sales for February, with a 65 percent increase in Recharge model sales, which represented 44 percent of retail deliveries.
This growth underscores the rising popularity and acceptance of Volvo’s electric and hybrid vehicles in both markets.
