Recent speculation has surrounded WWE’s Cameron Grimes and his anticipated transition to the main roster. Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer sheds light on the situation, noting that while Grimes has wrapped up his time in “NXT,” he is still awaiting a creative plan for his debut on the main roster.
Grimes previously appeared on “WWE Raw” in October, where he enlisted Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson for assistance with “NXT” matters. He also participated in a dark match at the Raw taping.
Before his likely move to the main roster, Grimes made his final “NXT” appearance on the November 8 episode, where he was defeated by Joe Gacy.
Since joining “NXT” in 2019, Grimes achieved outstanding success, including winning the “NXT” North American Championship from Carmelo Hayes, though he later lost the title to Hayes. His tenure also included feuds with prominent figures such as Finn Balor, Kushida, and Ted DiBiase.
The frequency of “NXT” call-ups has diminished under Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s tenure as WWE’s Chief Content Officer. Free agents from “NXT” have been added to the main roster, such as Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and Dexter Lumis.
IYO SKY joined Damage CTRL with Kai and Bayley, and Solo Sikoa was promoted to The Bloodline. Should Grimes debut soon, he will be among the fewer “NXT” talents transitioning to the main roster in this new era of WWE.
