WWE has revealed that WrestleMania Goes Hollywood (WrestleMania 39), scheduled to take place over two nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, has shattered the company’s all-time gate record for any WrestleMania, even though no matches have been announced yet.
The previous record, set at $17.3 million, was achieved during WrestleMania 32 in 2016 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
This record-setting gate follows a year of exceptional ticket sales for WWE in 2022, which saw record-breaking revenues for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and WWE Extreme Rules. Additionally, WWE Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, became the highest-grossing event in U.K. history for the company, marking its first major stadium event in the U.K. in three decades.
WWE also established new gate records in over 20 markets for SmackDown and Raw events throughout the year, including the December 30 SmackDown in Tampa, Florida, which featured John Cena’s return. WrestleMania 39 will be broadcast live on April 1 and 2, exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network internationally.
