Volvo Car USA Sees 80% Rise In BEV Sales, 7,693 Cars Sold in January

In January, Volvo Car USA reported a remarkable rise in sales, with 7,693 vehicles sold, reflecting an 8.2 percent increase from the previous year. Sales of fully electric vehicles saw a substantial jump, growing by 80.1 percent.

The share of Recharge models, which include both pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, continued to grow in the U.S. market, reaching 30.8 percent in January.

This marks a 1.8 percent increase from December 2022, indicating a steady rise in consumer preference for eco-friendly options.

The total sales performance in the Americas Region was also strong, with Volvo selling 10,130 cars in January, representing a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Recharge models played an important role, accounting for 40 percent of the total sales in the region.

Canada showed a remarkable year-over-year increase in sales of Recharge models, with a growth rate of 107.6 percent.

Similarly, Latin America and the U.S. saw impressive increases of 92.3 percent and 24.2 percent, respectively, in the sales of these eco-friendly vehicles.

Across the Americas, fully electric vehicles comprised 12.9 percent of total sales, underscoring the growing trend toward sustainable transportation solutions.

This upward trend in sales of electric and hybrid models highlights Volvo’s successful efforts in promoting environmentally conscious driving options.

The increasing consumer demand for Recharge models reflects a broader shift towards sustainability and reduced carbon emissions in the automotive industry.

Volvo’s performance in January sets a positive tone for the year ahead, demonstrating the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
