Yankees Slammed by Podcaster for Putting Profits Over People, Accused of Treating Fans with Contempt

Jimmy Traina is expressing frustration over the Yankees’ decision to stream additional games exclusively on Amazon Prime this season. The Sports Illustrated media critic took to Twitter to criticize the New York team for its ongoing partnership with Jeff Bezos’ company, accusing them of prioritizing profits over fan convenience.

Traina labeled the Yankees as “animals” and suggested they “hate their fans” for making it necessary to subscribe to another streaming service to follow their favorite team.

According to Traina, the Yankees have again chosen to place 20 games exclusively on Amazon Prime, with this season’s broadcasts mainly scheduled for Wednesday nights. He emphasized that fans will need to subscribe to multiple services—Yes Network, ESPN, FOX, FS1, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime, and Peacock—to watch all the games, describing this arrangement as a “huge insult” to fans.

Traina also addressed those who suggested that everyone already has Amazon Prime or dismissed his complaints as outdated. He dismissed such responses, arguing that the issue isn’t about access to the games but rather the Yankees’ decision to demand additional payment from fans despite their $7 billion valuation.
