In response to Gisele Bündchen’s recent interview with Vanity Fair discussing their highly publicized divorce, Tom Brady shared a cryptic message on his Instagram story, which seems to address her remarks.
Brady’s post included a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson about handling the “betrayal of false friends” and defining true success, accompanied by three heart emojis. Page Six captured a screenshot of his post.
The Emerson quote reads:
“What is success? To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate the beauty; to find best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”
In her Tuesday interview, Bündchen described the accusations that she had given Brady an ultimatum to retire or face divorce as “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard,” asserting that such claims are inaccurate.
Bündchen revealed to Vanity Fair that these allegations were part of a larger issue, not the sole reason for their separation. She elaborated on the gradual drift in their relationship, which began before Brady’s retirement saga.
Despite their separation after 13 years, Bündchen expressed continued support for Brady, wishing him well in his new endeavors. When Brady announced his retirement in February, she publicly supported him, stating her genuine desire for his happiness and success.
Brady had announced their divorce in November via social media, expressing gratitude for their time together and emphasizing their shared commitment to their children. He requested privacy as they navigated their new paths.
