Reggie Jackson is facing up to his past mistakes without offering any excuses. During a candid interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM, Jackson discussed his Hall of Fame career and the upcoming release of “Reggie,” a documentary about his life, which will be available on Amazon Prime starting Friday. He openly acknowledged his history of infidelity, providing no justifications for his actions.
Jackson remarked, “It wasn’t challenging to open up emotionally, but remaining loyal was difficult. As a man, I cheated frequently. I won’t offer excuses; I simply acted on impulse. I saw an attractive woman and pursued her.
I won’t attribute it to being an athlete or having access to women. I took advantage of opportunities and missed out on some wonderful relationships, which is entirely my fault.”
He also spoke about his “wonderful daughter” Kimberly, noting, “I wasn’t married when she was born, but it was an incredible experience. She has given me two grandsons, and one of them bears a strong resemblance to me.”
Jackson’s previous marriage was to Jennie Campos, whom he divorced in 1973. He has not remarried since. Currently, Jackson is in a relationship with a “tremendous friend” he has known for over three decades, and he mentioned that he will “probably” marry her.
“I cherish our time together and the life we share,” Jackson said.
