This week, Emmitt Smith, the Hall of Fame running back, stunned the sports community by disclosing his desire to join the Miami Dolphins as a restricted free agent in 1993—a move that could have bolstered quarterback Dan Marino’s championship hopes. Smith shared this revelation during an appearance on “The Pivot” podcast with Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.

In addition to this news, Smith also announced the passing of his father, Emmitt Smith Jr. He expressed his sorrow on social media, writing, “The man who inspired me to play the game of football has transitioned to be with the Lord.
