Pro Wrestling Star Jay Briscoe Passes Away at 38

Professional wrestler Jay Briscoe, whose real name was Jamin Pugh, has tragically passed away at the age of 38. He died in a head-on collision with another vehicle on Tuesday in Laurel, Delaware.

The driver of the other vehicle, Lillyanne Ternahan, also died at the scene. Pugh’s two daughters, aged 12 and 9, were passengers in his truck and are currently in critical condition in a hospital.

According to Delaware State Police, Ternahan, who was 27, drove directly into Pugh’s truck. While Ternahan was wearing a seatbelt, Pugh was not.

The wrestling community has been deeply affected by the news of Pugh’s death. Tony Khan, CEO of All Elite Wrestling and owner of Ring of Honor (ROH), confirmed the news on Twitter, expressing his condolences and highlighting Briscoe’s impact on the wrestling world.

ROH also released a statement mourning Pugh’s passing, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to the sport.

The Laurel School District, where Pugh lived, announced it would be closed on Wednesday in light of the tragedy, encouraging the community to keep the Pugh family in their thoughts and prayers.

Pugh and his brother Mark, known as “Dem Boys,” were celebrated as 12-time ROH World Tag Team Champions.
