While Aaron Rodgers is not yet a free agent, it’s evident his tenure with the Green Bay Packers is nearing its end. On Friday, Packers president Mark Murphy indicated that the team prefers to move forward with Jordan Love as their quarterback for the 2023 season, rather than Rodgers.
Murphy also revealed that the Packers have allowed Rodgers to discuss a potential trade with the New York Jets.Reports suggest that these discussions commenced on Monday, with the Jets traveling to California the following day to meet with Rodgers.
The day-long visit featured Jets owner Woody Johnson, head coach Robert Saleh, general manager Joe Douglas, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, and team president Hymie Elhai, among others.
When asked by Brandon Marshall about his impressions of the meeting with Johnson, Rodgers responded, “Meeting prominent figures in the sport is always intriguing. Yes, it’s always interesting. That’s all I’m sharing.”
