Elliott, a former Pro Bowl running back who was cut earlier this month, has narrowed his choices to the Jets, Bengals, and Eagles, according to ESPN. The Bengals and Eagles have recently appeared in the Super Bowl, while the Jets are seeking their first playoff appearance in 12 years.

Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III suggests that Elliott should join the Jets, who are building a high-profile roster with Aaron Rodgers and are also considering adding Elliott and Odell Beckham Jr. Griffin argues that joining the Eagles could damage Elliott’s legacy with the Cowboys:

“Choosing the Eagles doesn’t make sense for various reasons,” Griffin remarked on ESPN. “If Elliott were to go to the Eagles, they’ve experienced his dominance against them repeatedly. They might want some of that on their side, even if he’s not as explosive as he once was.

“But from Elliott’s perspective, joining the Eagles might tarnish his legacy. While the Eagles offer a chance to win, the Jets seem like a better fit. … “To ignite Elliott’s final push, the Jets, with Aaron Rodgers leading the team, could be the perfect environment. If Rodgers, Elliott, and Beckham all end up in New York, it will create a buzz across NFL media platforms, making for an exciting season.”
