Roxanne Perez Communicates with Fans Despite Uncertain WWE NXT Future

Roxanne Perez (WWE NXT)

It’s been a couple of weeks since “WWE NXT” Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez suddenly “collapsed” after defending her title against Meiko Satomura at the Roadblock special. This incident echoed the 1995 storyline where Shawn Michaels collapsed during a match with Owen Hart, supposedly due to post-concussion syndrome.

There have been various reports about whether Perez’s collapse was part of a storyline or related to a real health issue. Despite this, WWE has announced a ladder match for the title at Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend, but Perez remains the reigning champion. On Tuesday, following a report by Dave Meltzer that she had been cleared to return, Perez updated fans on Twitter.

“I can’t thank the @WWENXT Universe enough for all the thoughts and prayers over the past two weeks,” she wrote, likely staying in character. “The support means so much to me. Unfortunately, the doctors still haven’t figured out what happened at Roadblock. It’s frustrating, but I promise I’ll come back stronger, even though I’m not sure when!”

Previously known as Rok-C, Perez was the inaugural holder of the rebranded Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship, winning the title in September 2021. After Sinclair Broadcasting announced a restructuring of ROH and offered releases to all talent, she accepted the offer and lost the title to Deonna Purrazzo before signing with WWE.

Perez has since held both women’s titles on the “NXT” brand, winning the singles title from Mandy Rose in December and briefly holding the tag titles with Cora Jade until Jade turned heel in July.
