Chris Jericho, a prominent AEW star, has shown both emotional and financial support for Damar Hamlin following the football player’s cardiac arrest incident.
Hamlin, age 24, collapsed on the field after a collision during the first quarter of a Buffalo Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The game was halted as Hamlin received medical attention for 30 minutes before being transported to a local hospital.
The Buffalo Bills later confirmed Hamlin’s cardiac arrest and reported that his heartbeat was successfully restored on the field. Jericho made a $5,000 donation to Hamlin’s GoFundMe campaign for a toy drive, but due to a typographical error, the donation appeared under the name ‘Chrus Jericho.’ After noticing the mistake, Jericho corrected it by contributing an additional $5,000 with his name properly spelled.
Jericho has a history of charitable giving, having previously supported various causes through GoFundMe, including aid for an AEW crew member affected by Hurricane Ian and funding for Virgil’s medical expenses. Many people are contributing to the toy drive GoFundMe as a gesture of support for Hamlin and to wish him a swift recovery.
