Cadillac Racing has introduced three striking designs for their new V-LMDh race cars, each representing a color from the Cadillac V-Series emblem.
Competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship, Cadillac will field the No. 01 Cadillac Racing, No. 31 Whelen Engineering V-LMDh cars, and the No. 2 Cadillac Racing V-LMDh.
The 11th season of the FIA World Endurance Championship kicks off with the Official Prologue at Sebring on March 11-12, 2023, and concludes in Bahrain on November 4, 2023. Each car’s livery incorporates the V-Series graphic-and-color theme, featuring gold for No. 01, blue for No. 2, and red for No. 31.
Powered by Cadillac’s newly developed LMC55R 5.5L DOHC V-8 engine coupled with the standard LMDh hybrid system, the V-LMDh produces up to 670 horsepower as per series specifications. This power is transmitted through a seven-speed sequential gearbox.
The V-LMDh design, co-developed by Cadillac Racing, Cadillac Design, and Dallara, draws inspiration from the Project GTP Hypercar revealed last summer, incorporating signature Cadillac design elements like vertical lighting and floating blades.
“From an aesthetic point of view, the LMDh regulations allowed us to create a vision for the Cadillac car,” said Chris Mikalauskas, lead exterior creative designer at Cadillac. “This is exciting for fans and enthusiasts, as every car is unique.”
