In the 2nd episode of Grey’s Anatomy, the students are ordered to work under specified doctors. Lucas Adams under Dr. Maggie Pierce, Mika Yasuda under Dr. Owen Hunt, and Milin and Griffith in the surgical console. Mika went to Dr. Owen Hunt, who was with his wife arguing. Irritated by their arguing, Mika goes to Dr. Schmitt to ask him to let her work under him instead of those two. But he said no because he had to do more important stuff.
Next, Milin and Griffith, who is in the console, are inspecting two patients who are puking and suffering pain in their stomachs. Only after a few seconds does one of the patient’s health get worse, and Milin as an intern, is not able to access the situation and which leads to her calling for a doctor’s help. As the condition of the boy got worse, Dr. Grey had to visit and inspect the situation. But even for her, the patient’s condition was unique and required more doctors’ help.
Dr. Meredith gave the case to all the interns. For this, they have to research and inspect the situation. On asking about the patient’s previous medical record, Griffith came to know that he had syphilis. As the patient’s rashes got worse and spread throughout his body, the doctor told Milin to amputate his left leg. On which Milin was nervous.
When she started the amputation, the doctor guided her by telling her she needed to cut it layer by layer till the joint was. As she proceeded, after a few layers, the blood started flowing, which was too much for Milin to handle. As she gets more nervous, the doctor in charge has to take care of the situation. Later we see Milin sitting afar crying because of the situation, but Dr. Grey assures her that after seeing that much blood, it would have been difficult for anyone and that she needs to stay positive and focus on the next assignment.
On the other side, Mika is with Dr. Owen, and both of them are taking a look on a Harrold. Because he doesn’t want to answer his wife’s call, he puts his mobile inside his butthole. And now both the intern and Doctor have to take it outside. After a few minutes, Harrold’s condition gets worse, and he goes into cardiac arrest. So she performs just like Dr. Owen told her.
Like normal people, doctors have to work even when they are tired, when their relationship is falling off and when they have to face difficult obstacles in both their professional and personal life.
