Want to enjoy this Halloween season the right way? Don’t worry; AMC has the best series lined up for its viewers. We now have another set of Vampires from New Orleans to add to our binge list now that The Originals have left a hole in their absence (RIP Elijah and Klaus).

This latest addition to the genre comes with critical acclaim and raving reviews. Interview With the Vampires is a revamped TV Series based on the 1976 novel by Anne Rice, sporting the same title. The series was released to the public on 2nd October 2022.
This series does not follow the original time period as mentioned in the book, but sets it in the contemporary world to present it to the people in a-, as the creator Rolin Jones says in her own words-“time period that was as exciting aesthetically as the 18th century was without digging into a plantation story that nobody really wanted to hear now”.
Interview With The Vampire Season 1: Premise
The premise of the show is spooky, gothic, enthralling, historic, and everything in between. It packs with itself a vampire story, accommodating the gender fluidity not showcased in the movie adaptation. This contemporary take does it right this time.

The show centers around Lestat de Lioncourt and how he proposes to provide relief to Loius from his miserable life by changing him into a vampire. This irresistible offer is taken up by Loius, as he finds it hard to continue with his present situation.
This formulates the premise of the entire show, trudging the characters toward a path of blood, revenge, and sensational love.
Interview With The Vampire Season 1: Cast

The cast is as exciting as the premise of the story. Jacob Anderson plays the character of Louis de Pointe du Lac, who tells his story as the protagonist. He is portrayed as the lover and student of Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt, played by Sam Reid. Lestat is the antihero of our story, which often makes debatable decisions. He is the one who turns Louis into a vampire.
Then comes our interviewer, Daniel Molloy, played by Eric Bogosian. He pens down and interviews Louis de Pointe du Lac, who recounts all his adventures and anecdotes to him. The cast also includes Bailey Bass as Claudia, the child Vampire. She is created by Lestat against the rules that young humans shouldn’t be turned into vampires, which propels her to take revenge on him.
There are many more cast members, mainly Assad Zaman cast as Rashid, Steven Norfleet cast as Paul de Pointe du Lac, Kalyne Coleman cast as Grace de Pointe du La, Rae Dawn Chong cast as Florence de Pointe du Lac, Jeff Pope cast as Finn O’Shea, Chris Stack cast as Thomas “Tom” Anderson, Luke Brandon Field cast as Young Daniel Molloy, Rachel Handler cast as Peg-Leg Doris, John DiMaggio cast as Alderman Fenwick, Dana Gourrier cast as Bricktop Williams, Christian Robinson cast as Levi Freniere, Maura Grace Athari cast as Antoinette.
Interview With The Vampire Season 1 Episode 2: Recap
Episode two was released to the public on 9th October 2022, titled “…After the Phantoms of Your Former Self”. This episode brings forth how Loius grapples with his changed self as Vampire and tries to navigate this change with the help of Lestat.

However, he starts to witness how fundamentally different he and Lestat are from each other, which further confuses him. Loius reveals more about himself to Molloy in Dubai.

This episode is highly emotional, thought-provoking, and intimate. Lestat and Lewis were sharing a coffin, them seeing each other at their most vulnerable and they are most cruel, are all scenes that give us more insight into how the characters are distinctly similar and different from each other.
Loius is also forced to let go of his former self, as he is compulsively attracted to Lestat. This isolates him from the world. But it also opens him up to an entirely new one. The dilemma as to what kind of Vampire Louis wants to become also haunts him.

Episode two of the series is one that raised the stakes, and episode 3 must deliver the best. It will show Louis in his professional setup as a businessman in Storyville. However, there will be conflicting situations in play as well.
An old friend arriving in town unannounced will be the exact recipe for disaster that will test the bond between Louis and Lestat. New Orleans will also show its cards and teach these new Vampires in town that living here is no joke., as Louis’s business will entangle with the escalating tensions in the city.
